    Pay government
    services.

    Let your customers pay Gambian government services from your own platform and hand them an assessment number and payment tax number straight away.

    The Waychit Government Service API lets merchants, agents, and platforms pay GovPay revenue types such as business registration and stamp duty in The Gambia. Amounts are in GMD and your wallet is debited by amount plus fee minus discount.

    Authentication

    Every request is authenticated with your merchant API key over HTTPS.

    Important: Call this API from your own servers only. Never expose the key in client-side code. There is no sandbox, every payment moves real funds.

    Flow and fees

    1. 01Check your wallet balance.
    2. 02Load the revenue types.
    3. 03If the type has an amount, use its amount, fee, and discount. If amount is null, the customer enters an amount and you call the fee lookup.
    4. 04Show the total (amount + fee - discount) before you pay.
    5. 05Create the payment with an idempotencyKey. Hand the customer the assessmentNo and paymentTaxNumber.

    Example: Stamp Duty of D2,500 costs 2500 + 10 - 0 = D2,510. Discounts are already applied in the responses.

    GET/v1/government-service/revenue-types

    List the government services you can pay. Fixed-price types include amount, fee, and discount. When amount is null the customer chooses it, so call the fee lookup before paying.

    Payment Statuses

    pending

    Debited, payment in progress. Retry with the same idempotencyKey.

    succeeded

    Government service paid.

    failed

    The debit did not apply. Your wallet was not charged.

    refunded

    Payment failed and your wallet was credited back.

    Missing or invalid API key.

    400

    Insufficient balance, unknown revenue type, amount mismatch, or payment failed.

    Payment not found.
